Definition: Double Elimination

A double elimination bracket is a tournament format where every team has to lose twice to be eliminated. All teams begin in the winners bracket, and when a team loses, it drops into the losers bracket for a second chance. A second loss in the losers bracket eliminates them from the tournament. The winners of both brackets meet in the final, and if the losers bracket team wins, a deciding game is played since both teams would then have one loss.
