Frequently Asked Questions
What is slo-pitch?
Slo-pitch, also known as slow-pitch softball, is a variation of softball where the ball is pitched slowly with an arc. It uses a larger ball, special bats, and emphasizes fielding due to higher chances of ball contact.
Is Slo-Pitch Central free?
Yes, it's free and intended to stay free forever. We plan to create a sustainable premium product, with early adopters getting to test premium features for free and receive discounts on the full premium offering.
Will there be advertising on the free platform?
We may use ad servers temporarily. Our goal is to create a sustainable platform without ads by offering premium features in the future.
What can you tell us so far about premium?
Premium features are still under development. Register your account to receive updates on premium features as they become available.
What are auto-updating standings?
Auto-updating standings automatically update when a score is reported. Event coordinators can edit scores, which will recalculate standings. Manual editing is also still possible.
Do team owners need accounts?
No, teams are automatically generated from the schedule list with shortcodes. Teams only need to remember their shortcode to enter scores. Future features may allow team owners to 'claim' their team using secure, passwordless methods.
What does upload any CSV schedule mean?
We can accept CSV schedules from various scheduling software, as long as they follow basic rules like having a header row. If your CSV format is unique, we'll adapt our software to handle it. We also provide a standard CSV template.
Can your software intelligently place teams for playoffs?
Yes, we offer features (currently in beta) to label games for seeding and to move teams based on game outcomes, allowing for intelligent playoff progression.
