Definition: Obstruction
Definition: The act of a defensive player, not in possession of the ball and not in the act of fielding a batted ball, impeding the progress of a runner.
Rule/Context Note: Obstruction is a judgment call that results in the runner being awarded the base they would have reached had there been no obstruction.
