How to size a softball bat

The right bat size depends on a player’s height, weight, and strength. A common rule is that when standing with the bat at your side, the knob should touch the ground while the barrel reaches your hip. Most adult softball bats range from 32 to 34 inches in length and weigh between 26 and 30 ounces.

Choosing the right bat weight is about comfort and control. Lighter bats offer faster swing speed, while heavier bats provide more power if you can handle them. Always do a few test swings before committing to a bat size.
