Pitching in softball depends on the type being played (fastpitch or slo-pitch).

In fastpitch, pitchers use a windmill-style underhand delivery, rotating their arm in a full circle before releasing the ball with speed and movement. The key mechanics include keeping the hand under the ball, snapping the wrist on release, and following through smoothly. Balance, stride length, and consistent release points are crucial for accuracy and velocity.

In slo-pitch, the motion is simpler. The pitcher delivers the ball underhand with a slow arc, aiming for a legal arc height as required by the rules.
