Baseball Statistics
📖
Definition
Baseball statistics are the numbers used to measure how players and teams perform. They track things like:
• Batting: how well a player hits (examples: AVG = batting average, HR = home runs, RBI = runs batted in).
• Pitching: how well a pitcher throws (examples: ERA = earned run average, SO = strikeouts, W–L = wins and losses).
• Fielding: how well players defend (examples: E = errors, FPCT = fielding percentage).
• Team stats: runs scored, runs allowed, wins, losses.
